The petals from our neighbours' tree have fallen into our pool creating a nice effect. We are still waiting for the new pool liner that was ordered earlier in the month, although the weather hasn't been ideal for swimming it's perfect for running. Normally after a run I jump into the pool to sooth my sore legs.

Swan
This mute swan was swimming just off shore looking for food. I'm amazed at the size of these birds when compared to the Canada geese we commonly see and consider large.

Flowering Crab Apple
A neighbour's ornamental crabapple tree hangs over our fence for us to enjoy. The flowers also have a very pleasant fragrance. It seems to me that the flowering trees' blooms are much more abundant this year.

Spikes
Railway spikes litter the abandon track next to the GO train line. Interestingly, on November 7, 1885 the last rail spike was driven in completing the coast to coast railway line in Canada.

Grazing
This is our cat Storm grazing in the back garden. I understand cats eat grass because it aids in their digestion. She seems to like anything green, but unfortunately shares it with us, usually on the basement floor.

Waiting and Watching
With one eye on me this gull was waiting for it's next opportunity to feed. I find it interesting that when gulls find food they, instead of keeping it to themselves, begin to squawk alerting others to their find. I guess they were taught to share.

Spring Cleaning
I caught this guy cleaning the lower windows of an office building not far from City Hall in Toronto. This is a job I definitely wouldn't want, although I do give credit to anybody that does this type of work. I wonder if he has any interesting stories to tell?

Boot
No, this not one of my boots that I've left outside. Even one of my size 13's (48 to some) would be dwarfed beside this planter. We haven't planted any annuals yet due the risk of frost but next weekend this planter and the many others will be full.
