Last evening this mourning dove sat quietly on the our neighbours eaves just looking around. I watched it for the longest time wondering if a mate would show up. But one didn't.

I have too many Mourning Doves. Last winter there were two. Now there are five -- I suppose three youngsters. They are quite pretty and I like their call, but they eat all my bird seed, along with the rats and the squirrels.
Really sharp. We call these collared doves here.
how sad. great colours though!
