Pine Needles

So I bet you are wondering about the dots. Around here, and maybe in your neighbourhood too, there is a mosquito control program where a pellet like larvicide is put into each catch basin. A spray painted dot signifies that the pellet has been administered.

We don't have mosquitoes in Vancouver as far as I can tell. They leave me alone at any rate.

But in other areas of the province we have some devastating bug infestations.

I didn't know that about the dots. I think I need to pay more attention. ;-)

That's a neat picture. And thanks for the info about the dots and the insecicide, I never noticed that before.... I'll have to keep my eyes open in future.
