Blue Egg

It's amazing sometimes what we don't see when composing a photo. In this shot I saw the Robin's nest on the light and thought that was a pretty good shot but when I got home and viewed it on my computer I noticed the blue/aqua Robin's egg on the very narrow ledge below.
This photo was taken at the covered walkway in front of the old Stouffville District Secondary School.

Birds have a way of building nests in strange places. We've had some little sparrow-like birds building on a ledge on our front porch. It's a mess, and we tear it down but they come back and do it all over again. We think maybe it's some kind of decoy and they build their real nest somewhere else.

I looked at the photo before I read what you had written. I thought it was some kind of a wig!

This is a truly fascinating shot .. and what a surprise the blue egg must have been.
