What are These?

These flowers were found near the edge of a creek, although they weren't in the water the area was definitely damp.

They look similar to a weed we call creeping buttercup, but not exactly the same. Our buttercups are so pretty but also so vigorous and tenacious I don't know whether to love them or hate them.

These are marsh marigolds, and if you lived in England you would know them as Kingcups.

Yes, I do believe they are marsh marigolds. They used to grow in a wet spot in the field behind our house in Flamborough UK
