The Locks

The locks are part of the Rideau Canal which snakes it way from the city of Kingston on Lake Ontario to Ottawa, the nations capital, on the Ottawa River.

Protest

While wandering around Ottawa last Thursday I came across this protest on Parliament Hill. Wondering what they are about I visited their web site. They make some interesting points. 

Repetition

Earlier in the week I read an article by a photographer talking about a photo shoot he was on and how he was fascinated by the repetition of patterns. This also interests me and was the inspiration behind this shot.

Famous Five

 The sculpture Women are Persons by Canadian artist Barbara Paterson is located in Ottawa on Parliament Hill and commemorates the "famous five" who fought to have women constitutionally declared "persons" so they could be eligible to sit in the Canadian Senate.
