This larger than life sculpture is located on the northwest corner of the Rogers Centre (formerly known as the Skydome) in Toronto and is by artist Michael Snow called The Audience. Another similar works is located on the northeast corner.

Rosetta McLain Gardens

This is a park I like to visit in the east end of Toronto. Back in the day we trained at the stadium across the road and often ran around the park, although, this was before the gardens existed.

Mmmm....Beer

This small brewery has their operation in the old round house at Toronto's Union Station. The round house is where steam engines were brought for repair. On a personal note my grandfather worked there as a steamfitter back in the 1940's and 1950's

Maple Leaf Gardens

Taking only six months to build in 1931 the 'Gardens' was former home of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The first game was played November 12, 1931 and the last February 13, 1999 ending a 67 year history. Interestingly both games were a loss to the Chicago Black Hawks. I personally have many fond memories of the 'Gardens' some of which are seeing hockey games from the nose bleed seats, the many track meets both watching and competing in and seeing my first professional NBA game when the Buffalo Braves came to town.

Heroes

The Ontario Fire Fighter Memorial was dedicated on June 5, 2005 to the 344 fire fighters that have died in the line of duty since 1848.
Last night this beautiful memorial was vandalized by a lone male with spray paint. Officials believe the paint can be removed.
No arrest has been made....yet.

Waiting and Watching

With one eye on me this gull was waiting for it's next opportunity to feed. I find it interesting that when gulls find food they, instead of keeping it to themselves, begin to squawk alerting others to their find. I guess they were taught to share.

Spring Cleaning

I caught this guy cleaning the lower windows of an office building not far from City Hall in Toronto. This is a job I definitely wouldn't want, although I do give credit to anybody that does this type of work. I wonder if he has any interesting stories to tell?

Originally their duties were life saving and patrol work but now along with normal police work they provide medical support for island residents, search and recoveries and ice rescues plus many other water related duties.
You may want to visit their web site to learn more.

Cow Gate

This is a cow gate in the beautiful and ornate fence that surrounds Osgoode Hall. These gates were supposedly used to keep animals off the grounds. Some suggest they are purely ornamental. Either way they beg to be walk through.

Sunflowers

These sunflowers are located on Front Street in Toronto. I like the the way they have rusted.
